It's simple. Progressive literally means progress, and Bernie wants to do more than Hillary or Obama so he is the progressive choice.

re-read that and tell me if that makes sense to you. (look at it from this perspective: trump is promising to do more than any other candidate - by your "logic" that makes him the most progressive candidate and therefore the progressive choice)

Trump is regressive, he wants to close borders, restrict immigration, exclude religions, etc. His "policies" are giant steps backwards in society.

He wants to ban and even deport Muslims, and you don't think that's excluding religions.. Just like your meme, you have way too much presumption and no actual thought. The borders are not the big problem. Foreigners are not the big problem. Religion is not the big problem. Only smart people seem to see the underlying issues of class wages and poverty. That is what progressives focus on. Trump just uses race and religion to distract people from the real issues, and it works on dumb people. Socialist elements raise standards of living and healthcare and education, which increases life expectancy and lowers crime and incarceration. America fails abysmally when compared to European countries. It's naive to broadly dismiss 50 European countries in your comparison to the US, because they are broadly laughing at you.

while you claim it's naive to dismiss 50 european countries, bringing them up shows how clueless you are. the united states currently ranks ahead of MOST european countries in terms of healthcare, education and standard of living. and why are you limiting the comparison to europe? what about south american socialist disasters? turkey? former soviet union members?
i don't disagree regarding incarceration, but that is not a "progressive" value...progressives empower the state. on the other hand, conservative (true conservatives, which is rooted in conserving the rights of the individual - re: libertarian) would decriminalize most if not all drugs, prostitution, etc. that are making our detention system so terrible. so-called progressives have a skewed view of the criminal justice system that is more intent on getting back at whitie instead of focusing on the root problems.

Republicans continually blocked and voted against the peoples best interest and against Bernie exposing them, but it has not stopped him from becoming the presidential candidate. That's quite an achievement. In fact, Sanders was so effective as a legislator that the (right-wing) Veterans of Foreign Wars awarded him its highest honor in 2015.

i think you need to remove your head from bernie's ass if you think botching a figure that accuses an ally of murdering 10,000 innocent people is "asking for clarification". this is especially true after the remarks he made while skipping the annual aipac conference.

all of that said, i wonder which landmark legislation he passed that makes you so enamored with him. he's a career politician with 0 landmark legislative success. that he opposed many things without being able to stop any shows how useless he is. then again, his main supporters are millennials. useless is as useless does.

Bernie hasn't been intimidated by right wing tactics, all of which you employ and that alone makes him better than any other candidate. He also has a powerful and stable record on civil human rights. He has already caused a positive movement, and not a movement based on fear and hatred like Trump. There's nothing the uneducated right can say to change that. have you seen his views on israel? he just took the hamas palestinian figures on how many civilians were killed in operation protective edge (which most authorities accept are inflated) and multiplied them by SEVEN. no one knows how he came up with 10,000 dead, but he said it and hasn't retracted. he'd be a disaster for the world.
