This was all over the news a few days ago. A plane was taken hostage and the hijacker OK'd selfies with a couple of people. The initial report claimed that the guy's reasoning was he just wanted an epic selfie because he was going to die, anyway, but it's also been argued he was doing it to post to WhatsApp to help the authorities outside the plane.
