Many times, but they were chollas, not saguaros.

LOL! I remember my first experience with those. I'm sure someone down at city planning must have had a camera on the mailboxes they thought it was funny to plant them beside! I walked hald a block with my hands "cactused" together along with my shirt and my jeans.

In the desert, you learn pretty fast to carry a comb, even if you're bald.

I think I had been here all of about 3 months, I had no idea that such a source of evil existed!

I was lucky enough to have mentors the first time I went down there, but the cholla still got me several times.

Oh, still there. Tucson area I suspect if you took that saguaro pic yourself. I was a woodcarver. Did art shows all over the state during the winter months. Camped mostly out in the desert not far from Quartzsite.

Actually I didn't make this, just commented on your comment. Yeah still here but in Phoenix. Snowstorms like this weekend have been what's kept me from moving back east.

Yeah, I noticed that after I made that remark. I preferred AZ to MN where I had been living, but the wife, the rattlesnakes, the scorpions and black widows convinced me to move back north.
