The same relatives I mentioned earlier, my aunt used to put leftovers out back for stray cats.
There was a couple I took under my wing, and semi adopted them. One came from a family of Siamese-mixed from around the block, but my aunt heard that they may have had mange, so we wouldn't let it in the house. He wasn't around every day anyways.
The other looked like an Angora, or some sort of long hair mix.
We let her in sometimes, which turned out not to be a good idea because the second you looked away from food and she would jump on the table and grab it and run. Just sat there patiently waiting for you to look in another direction for half a second. In addition to not wanting her to consume our dinner, we didn't want her eating chicken bones, so we're trying to get it from her for her own good.
That's what I was thinking about with bloated also, although you often see that with kittens. One time my aunt came home from work, and visited somebody along the way, and they gave her a couple of fish that they caught. So what does my aunt do? She fries them up, for her dog and that cat. I said hey, I love them, but shouldn't we be the priority with freshly caught fish?
Anyways, the dog took one sniff and look back up at us like, where's the food? She cooks this meal for them and he doesn't want it.
Anyways the cat ate hers, and seeing that he didn't want his, she ate it too. Afterwards she laid on her side and dozed off looking like she was super pregnant. One of those fish was a meal for a person, and that cat ate two. So me and my cousin pointed our fingers and made fun of the cat, but she wasn't budging. She was very content that day.
