The person who invented homework made it originally as a punishment, but a guy named Hoarce Mann (yes, its pronounced horse man) saw that Europeans were doing it as a punishment, but since at the time, America wanted their education to be as good as possible so that they could 1up other countries, Hoarce Mann thought more work = smarter. And to this day, Europe has a better education system than America... I wonder why
