I mean, Android is just software. And this is talking about Apple hardware, so it's an unfair comparison. Also, Android is much freeer because it's G.N.U./Linux-based and therefore open-source.

Android is Linux-based, but Google still takes a lot of your data, like Microsoft with Windows. There are AOSP (Android Open Source Project) systems like PostmarketOS and LineageOS, designed to be fully de-Googled and therefore actually private, and there are also pure Linux phones, such as PinePhone and Librem, which use the standard Linux kernel but on ARM hardware, but these are mostly unsupported, and have few apps. Android is much, much freer than iOS; however, when it comes from Google or Samsung, it's nowhere near perfect.

Android Open Source project? I haven't heard abt that tbh, but Android is open-source already. G.P.L. v2 is a copyleft licence.

The software? Of course, I mean, you can make it whatever you want, BUT let's not pretend Google cares about your safety more than Apple does. It's all MAMAA (Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Apple, Alphabet) and their greed for more profits. Android is open-source, because it must be (G.P.L. v2 is a copyleft licence), so we know how much information they're taking from us. That is the only difference between iO.S.'s privacy concerns and Android's privacy concerns.

Android is a software system (mainly for Samsung, Xiaomi, etc), like how iOS is a software system for iPhone.
