Lots of child-hating teachers I've seen/been under the tutelage of seemed to have become teachers for the express purpose of verbal child abuse. When I was in seventh grade, my best friend's history teacher absolutely despised children. He told me that he overheard his parents talking about suing her. I also had this teacher for history, and I saw how she behaved. One day, she came into the class and started screaming and cussing at us, and that was the last straw. Without excusing myself (probably the most rebellious thing I've ever done), I marched down the hallway (teacher still screeching at me like a banshee, mind you), straight up to the principal (who was in the hall talking to another student), and pointed at the teacher. She was fired, and she may have been arrested for verbal child abuse.
