Fun Fact: During the final stages of production, someone on the dev team at Bungie thought it would be funny to make the Magnum the strongest gun in the game. So, they went into the code and boosted the damage multiplier on the Magnum to x1000, making it strong enough to bring down a Banshee with sustained fire without having ro reload, assuming you don't miss shots.

and its not like what it used to be like the halo CE in the original xbox

Actually, the CE magnum is the same in MCC as it was back in 2001. Still ridiculously powerful.
