If the controller gave them an electric shock every time they hit the wall or another car, it would have one or more of the following effects:
1. They would try to harder not to hit things while playing the game
2. They would stop playing racing games and gravitate towards games that do not shock you when you screw up
3. They might be afraid to use or even touch the console ever again
4. When they get behind the wheel of a real car, they'll be much more likely to treat it with the respect it deserves (best possible outcome).
