And if you even try to say "filler" or "bad animation", you're not only wrong, you're stupid.

My reasons for disliking boruto are neither although it's objectively true that borutos animation isn't that great and most of the filler is bad. Although I usually don't judge an anime by its filler cus you can just skip it. My problem is that the writing is dogshit. Except for momoshiki, all of the villains are lame, the new character designs are L, and a lot of the old cast is not treated very well. Boruto also at least starts as a very annoying mc and although he's no longer annoying he's still not the greatest. The attempts at plot twists like with the worldwide genjutsu is stupid and although current boruto is better, it doesn't make up for the fact that the prior stuff was bad. Even baryon mode is an L transformation that ends up nerfing Naruto. The only thing I really come back to in Boruto are the few good fight scenes. I love Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki to death and the choreography on Naruto vs Isshiki is cool.

What real villains are there besides momo? The rest (except Kara) are just thugs. There's nothing wrong with that. Like shojoji. He's not a likeable villain that people are gonna buy merch of and worship like itachi, he's just an obstacle for boruto to overcome and learn from. Which is fine. The real good villains are Kara ( especially Isshiki and koji)

Except Kara are not good villains. They are bland, one-dimensional characters with no goals, L powers (for the most part), and most have little impact on the story.

Yes they are great. Goals: deepa: hes weird, wants to taste the fruit of the chakra tree. Kills people without remorse to do so. Koji: backstab a certain someone.. delta: actually doesn't have any real goal so this ones yours. Boro: infinite tsukyomi everyone because this world has pain and suffering. I could go on. They're tropey sure, but not one dimensional.

Literally how is omnipotence stupid that is such a bad take when a certain other worldwide jutsu makes much less sense, also, to say the new character designs are bad involves ignoring the last, boruto helps people without expecting anything in return starting on ep 1...and finally, everything here is basically your opinion, and not sufficient to call this series "ass"

1. Omnipotence is not a stupid idea they just went about it very poorly in Boruto.
2. The Last has good character designs but Boruto does not, I don't get why we are bringing up the Last.
3. Just because Boruto helps people without expecting anything does not make him a good mc 💀. He's still a whiny brat with uninteresting powers and continously fails to impress. How nice the mc is has nothing to do with the character being well written. By that logic, Tanjiro is one of the greatest mc ever made which is just not true.

1. Explain bc that is some horse shit. 2. The last has horrible character design, unlike boruto. 3. People who say he is a whiny brat are talking about the first 60 episodes. You say hes badly written, but ignore his character arc. Not to mention, naruto is a shit dad to his family, and boruto is like 8 at the time, so his reaction is very fair. Oh and you're saying that vanishing rasengan isn't interesting? And karma? And the fact that he can only make 4 clones, leading to him thinking out actual strategies and not just spamming them?(4) yeah tanjiro sucks

I'm too busy to answer 1, but as for 2 fair enough. It's not like Bleach level or anything with the character designs I just think it's better than Borutos. 3. I do recognize his character arc but it lasts for way too long (way over the 60 eps). Also no those abilities you mentioned are boring. Vanishing rasengan is lame af and karma is one of my biggest problems with Boruto. I guess the 4 Clones is fine but there's no point when Naruto uses them in more creative ways anyway. I'll answer 1 at some time just not now

Karma is awesome what you on?
0 ups, 4mo
Karma is cool in principle, but it's a clear representative of a huge problem in Boruto. In Boruto, almost every single villain has a way to just negate ninjutsu, the most interesting part of the Naruto power system. Don't get me wrong, taijutsu is awesome, and I love Rock Lee and Guy's fights but having every single fight being primarily taijutsu gets boring after a while. The problem is exacerbated when they don't even negate it in an interesting way. I hate nullification powers because it just ends up making other characters have less diverse movements that make the fight less interesting. I do enjoy the design of karma and how it acts as a way for the Otsutsuki to inhabit a vessel (even if that explanation is pretty contrived).

And vanishing blue ball is very interesting, especially the way he learns it in the anime.

I will agree that the way he learns it is cool. But the actual attack is so L. I like the disappearing gimmick but the fact that it has the attack potency of a pillow is sad.

It has no attack potency, that's not what its for. Its for momoshiki to resurrect, and so it has high defense (absorption) to protect boruto. You think big attack equals good writing. Have you even seen part ep 100?
0 ups, 4mo
I do not think big attack equals good writing. HxH is extremely well written and has much smaller-scale attacks. It still doesn’t change the fact that an attack needs to have impact to feel powerful. That impact changes for every series, and the vanishing rasengan just feels like it does nothing. I do understand the context behind its weakness, which I guess is fair. I will be honest, my opinion on vanishing rasengan is definitely subjective, but my other points still hold true. You can have this one.

Only delta Isshiki and momoshiki absorb jutsu, so that argument is invalid.

Literally no they are not bad, they provide character development and background for new characters, and always have good morals.
0 ups, 4mo,

Good morals does not equal good writing. Also it's true that there's more backgrounds but there is almost always little "character development" and it doesn't change the fact that they're paced terribly and are filled with terrible decisions
[deleted]

Okay, there you are wrong. Good morals are complimented by good writing, not vice versa. And the pacing is just right, not too fast or slow. As for character development, im starting to think you haven't even watched boruto.

Oh trust me I've seen boruto. I watched every boruto episode until the sasuke retsuden adaptation then I read the manga. I really wanted to like it because it's a continuation of one of my favorite fiction pieces ever. Also how are good morals complimented by good writing? Also the pacing thing is just objectively wrong. Borutos pacing is painfully slow, to the point where numerous episodes feel like either nothing is happening or that what I just watched took way too much time. A good example was the filler arc with Ohnoki and Mitsuki, that arc had so much potential but was paced horribly. And I know its filler, so it naturally has worse pacing but the Canon stuff isn't much better. Also I've seen ur other comments and if you think that boruto is a better mc than naruto than I just don't know what to say.

Yes dbz Kai fixed it, but my point is the pacing isn't essential for it to be good.
0 ups, 4mo
1. DBZ kai did not fix the pacing completely, there are still pacing issues
2. Pacing is literally one of the most important aspects of a story, it IS essential for a story to have good pacing.

Buddy. This is all your opinion + fillers are canon + boruto is way better than naruto what you on?
0 ups, 4mo
1. It is literal fact that fillers are not canon. Just look up what filler episodes are in the context of anime.
2. If you think Boruto is better than Naruto, then you’re just wrong.

It’s true that dbz has slow pacing but so does Boruto. Dbz kai does improve the pacing.

1. Its called anime canon for a reason. 2. Boruto is not a pervert, is actually realistic, and doesn't care what he gets in return for his good deeds. He doesn't want a position of power, or friends (unlike someone), or anything. He simply defends the leaf who think he's a murderer.
0 ups, 4mo
1. Anime canon is a fake term, its all still filler. And if you really want it to be canon, it actually decreases the quality of Boruto.
2. All of those aspects are true, but it doesn't change the fact that Boruto is not a good mc. An mc does not have to be a morally righteous character, and Boruto isn't even that. He's very annoying, takes things for granted, and even cheated in front of the ninja world. Mcs like Eren (in s4), Ichigo (to an extent), and Light are not always the best of people, but it doesn't change the fact that they are interesting mcs. Naruto is so lovable because he has those good characteristics and has a compelling story arc. He's the ultimate in the zero to hero archetype and we fall in love with him as he goes through his journey to become the hokage. That's not to say that every mc needs an active goal (see Ichigo), but it is a good reason to like Naruto. On the other hand, Boruto has not had an active goal until the timsekip and is not inherently interesting. He's very unlikable; just look online for people's opinions on him.

Wait you checked my profile and you're still talking to me? Maybe you missed a lot of my more offensive arguments.

2. Boruto is only "unlikeable" because most naruto fans wanted naruto part 3 and didn't get it. The rest of the people who say that are just blind sheep, or a very small amount like you just simply dislike him. Yeah he takes things for granted, that's the point! He learns that that's not the way. 1. Pacing is actually subjective. Like the one piece, luffy vs crocodile. I thought it was terribly slow. A lot think its great. Which is fine. also its pretty hard to adapt to anime. Read jjba manga, then watch it. The manga fights make sense because you read at your own pace, but the anime fights are weirdly paced, because, like i said, its hard to adapt pacing. And the anime canon is the correct term , filler is a nickname. And yeah, they add to the story (usually. Im not gonna pretend that timeslip or chocho acting arc was good). Like the time koji broke into the leaf to steal the scroll and fought kakash. A welcome addition to the manga story.
