Uniforms are good for a learning environment, for one. People make such a big deal about how the U.S. should be like other countries, well, school uniforms are common in other countries. And with uniforms, people at least know where the school stands when it comes to its dress code. Currently, it's almost completely arbitrary. One thing that's fine for one kid can be "inappropriate" for another, and I don't just mean incidents that get highly sensationalized and racially charged national media coverage. A girl who's an early bloomer can get dress coded for wearing a shirt that's "too tight," or "too revealing," when another girl can wear the exact same thing and not even get a disapproving glance from the teachers.
