The IDF just comes to liberate the areas and kick out the Hamas.

Hamas, on the other hand, commit atrocities even against their own people, and purposely set up their bases in civilian areas.

And if the Gazans want Israel to control them instead of Hamas, that means that Hamas needs to be a truly horrible aggressor to be rejected by their own people.
