The answer to your question is reincarnation (samsara), which continues endlessly until one achieves a state called moksha (roughly equated to "inner peace" or "self-actualization") by living a perfect life according to dharma, which by then one is freed from reincarnation and is sent to live in eternal bliss in heaven.
