You got that right. I began criticizing the political tendencies of the media -- at that time mostly just the Mainstream outlets -- as far back as the mid 1990s on Political Forums.
I thought it wrong to be either noticeably Left or Right leaning in either broadcasts or -- what was still relatively new back then -- 'editorial' commentary. I expected just the straight and reasonably accurate reporting of news so that I could make up my own mind what to think about it.
Now, of course one HAS to listen to conservative sourced news and opinion pieces just to get; first, something reasonably approaching the actual TRUTH in regards to news, and then to understand the full range of outright and deliberate lying going on in regards to the Mainstream Media and CNN and MSNBC as to their version of the same news items. Damn sad.
