They project to the point of parody. Makes you wonder if it's really just a put on.
They won't change, if anything, they'll just become more distilled, more virulent.
The web allows those so predisposed to flock to that which pushes their buttons the best. Manipulators will feed them exactly what they want, using that to steer and prod them ever further.
It's these confirmation bias feedback loop bubbles, once they're in they just keep circling and circling and circling, a virtual perpetual motion machine that feeds them what they spew, only further amplified by those at the helm and the minions that ring them.
And I don't mean just them, there are niches for just about anything, brimming with converts, fueling their fevers like it was a drug. Anger is the drive, the hunger, the pill, the addiction, the reason. It is the most potent of emotions, but exhausting to sustain. These groups help to keep their fires burning.
On the other hand, as they become more distilled, they become more distant from everybody else. That would seem to be something of a benefit for the rest of society, as they isolate themselves into obscure corners. But the thing is, not being the only ones, there's a multitude of others splintering and splintering. And that's what the powers that be want, division and allegiance all in a bottle.
