We are drawn to one another because we each have a piece of the divine engraved on our souls, giving us characteristics that are rightfully reserved for God. God did not need to create us in order to benefit from doing so; rather, He did so out of a desire to love and to love more. Because the only "good" response to "I love you" is "I love you, too," He created us and loves us like a father loves his children. In turn, we love God, this is why we need God.
