You don’t have to make everyone black (including historical figures) to prove you aren’t racist. Oh and I thought documentary’s were supposed to be accurate…..

If you ask me it's kinda racist to blackwash characters, ESPECIALLY historical ones
1 up, 2y
Yeah that’s my point
2 ups, 2y
If a character is white then they do t need to be made black like that’s who they are it’s not racist for a white character to be white

She was, everyone knows that everyone outside of North America is. 🙄

(For the “special” ones that don’t understand this is sarcasm)

it’s so dumb they should just represent egyptians and greeks properly instead of changing her skin tone entirely and making up history.

I'm not saying I agree with it, but I also don't see the problem- It's an actor....in a movie- It's not a correct adaptation but why is it a problem? Everyone over the age of at least 12 know that Egyptians were not black.

but they said its an ,,documentary"

I know, I watched it- As long as people have at least a string of common sense, they'll know its not real

but it’s not just that, the documentary goes out of their way to prove that cleopatra was black but just because someone lived in africa doesn’t make them black, and cleopatra was greek so it’s actually miss representation of greeks at that point and arguably more racist

Here- I don't wanna argue
Robert Morkot wrote in 2005 that "The ancient Egyptians were not 'white' in any European sense, nor were they 'Caucasian'... we can say that the earliest population of ancient Egypt included African people from the upper Nile, African people from the regions of the Sahara and modern Libya, and smaller numbers of people ...

okay we don’t gotta argue but Cleopatra was also greek so i don’t think she wouldve been black-
0 ups, 2y
You're not wrong she had Greek ancestry with some Persian and Sogdian Iranian ancestry

Because for anyone over the age of 12, historical inaccuracy and similar inconsistencies are plain annoying
