Nominated for 4 Oscars in 1961 but no wins:
Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Janet Leigh
Best Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Best Cinematography, Black-and-White: John L. Russell
Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Black-and-White: Joseph Hurley, Robert Clatworthy, George Milo
I think it's a shame this movie wasn't nominated for its music; a fantastic score that sets the tone for the movie. The shower scene is famous, of course, and I expected it the first time I watched the movie, but what startled me most was Norman's second murder in the movie that doesn't seem to get as much attention which is probably for the best so that it adds something unexpected for anyone who hasn't seen this classic must-see Hitchcock suspense film.
