This is a bittersweet musical love drama of two young lovers torn apart by war, but life must go on; all of the dialogue is sung in French, like an opera, but not in opera style; the colors of the movie are very bright, the fashion styles are a delight, and even though the story is bittersweet it is a nice love story made better by the music, styles, and scenery.
