Meanwhile, Corrupt and Loona as a couple makes sense in a way:
Zach was a local nobody in central America, however one day, someone broke into his apartment room and knocked him unconscious. A few days later, he wakes up inside the I.M.P. office, where he meets Loona. After a series of unfortunate events (Zach took Loona's last beer), the pair find themselves on a train, taking them on a trip down the rings of Hell. They end up stuck at the bottom of the rings, in Sloth, and while they make their way up the rings to get back to Pride, Zach and Loona learn more and more about each other, growing closer. However, it wasn't until they hit Wrath once Zach was kidnapped by a Collapsed Sin, otherwise known as Dante, the Sin of Treachery (No relation to Devil May Cry).
Dante explains to Zach that Ahab, the Sin of Corruption, was close to his end, and that they needed a host to take his place. Specifically, a human. Whether he liked it or not, Zach complied, taking hold of the "Heart of Corrupted Souls" and manifesting his power, becoming the creature you know and love (or hate), Corrupt.
Meanwhile, as Loona was searching desperately for Zach, she comes across an archangel, who takes her away and into Heaven by force. She meets the Lord himself, but rather than smiting her on the spot, he forgives her for all she has done, blessing her soul and giving her wisdom of Angels. However, if she wanted the rest of her knowledge, she needed to comply and become a full fledged angel, which Loona eventually declined. The Lord nods, sending her back to Hell as a way of her bringing back Sinners, as a second chance for them to turn to God.
After a long debate nearly ending in a bloodbath, the 6 Collapsed Sins are finally able to convince Lucifer that he needed to fully remove the barrier between Hell's top 7 rings and bottom 6. Moments later, Loona happened to end up within the Morningstar palace, specifically in Charlie's room, which is where the princess of Hell herself was. Once Lucifer finds out about Loona's angelic presence within his home, he grabs Corrupt and takes him to kill her.
Once Corrupt and Loona make eye contact, they knew exactly the other person was. A spark was in the air, everyone felt it, and rather than Corrupt instantly killing Loona, as ordered, he brings her into a warm embrace. Lucifer was outraged, nearly declaring war on Heaven, however Charlie managed to talk him out of it and convinced him to let Loona stay with Corrupt.
