Well then you don’t “only” care about the story if you want to have some input in it. Frame rates, bad level design, and glitches are all things that hinder your participation.

It is fine for me

I could point out the lazily animated cutscenes, lack of voice acting in a modern open-world game, and inappropriate amounts of transitions from scene to scene of you want to talk about the story.

Pokémon has never had voice acting

It’s 2022. Almost 2023. It should have voice acting by now. Back then it was a technical limitation. There’s nothing keeping them back now.

Also if you’re talking about story, it’s a Pokémon game. It’s basically been the same story forever (except Legends Arceus).

But this story has more. The team has introduced a different concept, the gyms are different, and titans are different.

It’s the same thing with a game like Far Cry. The fundamentals have stayed the same for 10+ years, but they add a few things on top to make it look different to anyone that isn’t paying attention. It’s why this saying exists: “if you’ve played one Far Cry game, you’ve played them all.”

Pokémon is a huge universe that has potential for all kinds of stories. But they’ve stuck with the same thing for 20+ years.

bought the game yesterday, and i noticed that the NPCs literally move at like 5 fps when looking at them from a distance
Oh, and also the camera clips through the ground sometimes
