birch is the kind of wood for the little details in builds. For example, I was building a forest and I had the idea to use stripped birch logs for the cut down trees, and another time I was using the birch wood texture for a specific detail.

Birch has its place. It can provide a good level of contrast with darker blocks. But the log texture is… gross

I personally use a lot of Spruce on my Creative mode builds. If its avaliable same goes for survival, but I usually just use oak.
