Fun fact! My dad didn't leave, but he wasn't there a ton when I was younger. He's a pilot, and he got based a bunch of places and had to go to trainings a lot, and his inconsistent schedule meant family time was pretty precious when we got it. He started trying to get hired right before 9/11 happened, so that sucked, and we're still paying off debt from that more than 2 decades later.
