we use the last 2 fingers to increase the leveraging length of the racket ... long lever means less effort & more power ... however, do NOT use wrist to flip head into ball ....pull the butt cap with your left oblique and let the wrist release (post impact) from weight of racket's momentum

Butt cap turns to the center of body using pinky and ring fingers ... turning racket face down at the same time ... wrist goes from extension to flat ... this technique turns a "push" into a "snap" resulting in exponential increase in speed/power
