True, many fruits are toxic and cherries are one of them. Raisins and garlic are some of the worst for them and then plants like lilies in particular.They likely have them there because they were likely going to prep them for a pie maybe and kitten was trying to take them and probably play with it. At Least they took them away and most likely are unaware of this fact as well. Hopefully since then someone has warned them. It would be a good idea for places to give those adopting cats a list of toxic foods and plants and things like that since most wouldn't realize most of the things that are bad.
