As a parent, this is what I would want to be reminded of:
A) It's illegal to expose children to hentai.
B) It's also illegal for parents to host drinking parties for their kids or let their kids try drugs, but they do it anyway.
C) The reason why they do it is because they see the environment and can control the environment to create a safe space for children to conduct illegal behavior.
D) It's better to know what your child is doing and guide them through it, than to let them do potentially dangerous stuff alone without understanding what they're doing.
E) Ultimately, it's the parents call and legality should not be ignored. The role of a parent is to guide, raise, and make judgement calls.
