I could not help myself. We are about to talk about the process of fertilization in my class. And there are 3 key events that happen once a sperm enters the egg.
1) the protein synthesis in the egg resumes
2) the sperm nuclei fuses with the egg's nuclei to form a diploid cell and
3) cell division starts up
