The way Dumbledore acted in the movie has been criticized many many times. As well as the way Dumbledore shouted Harry's name through the great hall.
Now in the same story during the trial in which Barthy Crough Jr. was sent to Azkaban the book states that Crouch Jr. kept denying his guilt and that his father took pride in sending his own son to Azkaban to show the world he would sent any death eater even his son to Azkaban without mercy. In the movie Crouch Jr. mocked his father with a very sarcastic "Hello Father", and Dumbledore said: "Sent him to Azkaban. Destroyed Barthy to do it, but he had no choice. The evidence was overwhelming". Here too we can see that things have been really put in the direct opposite of the book.
Now I can forgive the omitted the fact that Crouch Jr. was on the same trial as Bellatrix Lestrange and her husband Rodolphus. And in the books it was also not Karkarov who named Crouch Jr. (in the book the fact that father and son have the same first name was only revealed after the fake Moody was unmasked), but the way in which Crouch Jr. was sent to Azkaban, that was a bit of an insult of the original story, as well as Dumbledore's behavior when Harry's name came out of the Goblet of Fire.
