That's some terrifying stuff but I think it was a movie perhaps. Like some train going through dimensions or something, kinda dark but it's such an old memory, I just remember an image. Perhaps it was early anime.

I never saw any early anime myself. But as for movies, Heavy Metal and Fantastic Planet were pretty trippy.
