In George Orwell’s 1945 classic novel Animal Farm, communism is explored through this animal fable. This book was so powerful that it was banned in communist countries immediately upon publication. This book is full of prime examples of propaganda. The definition of propaganda is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a political cause or point of view. Napoleon, the leader of the pigs, abuses the other animals to give himself privileges, which displays propaganda. The second use of propaganda in Animal Farm is when Napoleon lies to the animals in order to get away with not feeding them and making them work more hours. The third use of propaganda is when Napoleon uses intimidation to make the other animals do what he says.
