No sympathy for TSA employees? Cool. How about active military? I don't imagine the families of servicemembers are thrilled to be missing a month's pay right after Christmas.
No sympathy for the military? Cool. What about ICE agents? Coast Guard? Homeland Security? National Parks and Monuments? Secret Service and other security forces in D.C.? None of these people make a whole lot of money to start.
What about companies who contract with the government? They're not even guaranteed back pay, but many of them are working because they can't afford to lose the contract.
This thing is creating massive individual hardship on public servants. Even if they get back pay, you can't buy groceries until that comes through. You can't pay your rent. You can't pay your bills. You can't buy diapers for your infant.
Why would you wish this on people you rely on to keep you safe?
