Really, I wasn't aware that children could apply for food stamps themselves. I assumed their parrents had to get them. I also assumed that's why I can't go to the sore without someone trying to get me to let them buy $75 worth of groceries for $50 cash (presumably to buy something other than food).
Enabling irresponsible parents dies NOT help their children. However, anytime accountability measures are recommended (drug testing, I.D.s) extra are recommended, it's another "but the children"
Also, much is donated food wise. Many churches have food donation distributions. It's a charity I even use from time to time. You know, it's possible to be helped by groups OTHER than government. It's usually even more efficient.
