The flag should not be displayed on days when the weather is inclement, except when an all weather flag is displayed.

So it's damage is the responsibility of the flag owner.

In that mindset, the Constitution is just a piece of paper with ink on it.
Or is it the framework outlining the freedoms and responsibilities that built a nation you have enjoyed all your life.

That's what the world believes, otherwise why would those who don't like the US burn the US flag? It is a symbol for what the country is.

This is just one of the places I found this definition. All the other sites had similar wording, this juat happen to be where I stopped. But a flag is definitely not a picture or a painting.

And it is funny that they chose a flag as helpful descriptor when defining the word "Symbol".

You are right, it is. But just because you feel like a word should mean something else or you don't like the meaning doesn't change a words definition.
That is why specific words are selected when the 1st Amendment was written, along with all other laws like USC Title 36 CH 10, or the 4th Amendment.
