I'm a huge SK fan so I've read a lot of his stuff and seen most of the movie adaptations even the bad ones (which is a lot of them), but this is actually a pretty good adaptation. Kathy Bates is amazing in it and there's also Paul Newman. 2g1o2c.gif (click to show)

Yeah I know it's a classic. Have you gotten to know giveuahint yet? She's been taking a bit of a break lately but she's my best friend. Anyway, I was busting her chops yesterday because she'd never seen Les Mis or West Side Story, so she did a marathon last night and watched both lol.

I think Les Mis is the best story ever written, and the best musical. I listen to and sing the music all the time. You must see the movie. I hate it didn't get more Oscars, especially for Hugh Jackman. I've also seen the non musical Charles Laughton version.

I feel that way about Rent. I also know any musical with Maria songs in it cause sometimes people feel compelled to sing when I introduce myself. Usually from West Side Story or Sound of Music.. every now and then I get someone who's super original and they go with "Take a Letter, Maria"
