Pastor John MacArthur said it best; that If you're trying to realize "Your best life now", then your next life will be in Hell. Not that we shouldn't pursue our dreams and goals, far from it.
However, didn't Jesus say that what does it profit if you gain the whole world and yet you lose your soul (Matthew 16:26)?
If you are saved, your #1 goal in life is not to create your heaven on earth but glorify God (Isaiah 42:6).
So how are you glorifying Him by living, "the life"? Fast cars, a mansion, life savings, etc... If you think that's what and Christ suffered and died for then you were never saved in the first place.
You don't have God but only a Golden Calf you've made with your hands.
