True, but I do not have a subscription now and did not have one when I created this gif. My gif has no imgflip.com watermark, a bit of a mystery as to why. Only one other user knows how I did it and I don't think he will spill the beans or try to claim the prize.
So far, you are incorrect as to why there is no imgflip.com watermark on this creation. I look forward to you or any user providing the correct answer.
Another good guess, but not correct. If no one gets the correct answer by the end of Stolen Gifs Week, I will award you a consolation prize of random upvotes :)
No you are not! A good guess, but still not correct. This one was cropped inside the imgflip gifgenerator and this one was not cropped and uses my trick
Another good guess because you can draw in any web color, but the watermark is added when you hit the "Generate GIF" button. You can't draw on a creation after that. Keep them coming :-)
There is a checkbox option to skip the imgflip.com watermark in the lower left corner, but it is only available if you pay for a imgflip Pro subscription, OR you find the workaround. Adding captions to a gif is different and available to all users.

Oh.I don't have the subscription but I've always been able to put the watermark on it.Maybe it's because I create memes on an iPad.
Hold up. I just stumbled upon the secret. You put text on it, made it so that the text blends in with the background, then stuck the text over the watermark. Woo! My hands hurt now.
There are no options on the imgflip.com watermark color. The only legitimate way to get around/remove the watermark is to pay for imgflip pro imgflip.com/pro or imgflip pro basic, which I don't have currently. My trick on the gif here was short lived and is no longer viable with the most recent site upgrade. Only one trick left in my watermark bag of tricks!
You can hide the watermark by making the image to a size where the watermark become barely visible
or covering it with a color that matches the watermark
