When you start down your left femur must be angled back ....this will allow the hips to rotate thru impact ...the reason this works well is because as your left leg pushes into the ground from this "femur/angled" position, your left hip will naturally turn around, back and away from the target ...the right side will also come thru properly as well ...this hip "clearing" technique prevents the raising of the body (early extension) and allows you to stay in posture (lateral side bend right)
