js read image desc ig bc wodrs too smol | It was an early Texas Monday morning. The first day of Lori’s new job. She’d been looking forward to this day for, what seemed like forever.
Lori woke up at 6:15 to prepare for her job, which started around 9 o’clock. She brushed her teeth, combed her hair, did her makeup, and wore her fancy, black dress. She walked out of her apartment building and drove down the street to a coffee shop. After she ordered her drink and her food, she walked back to her car and drove to work.
She walks through the glass doors of her work. “This place is gorgeous!” she thought. She arrived at her desk and started to log into her new computer. Her boss, Jerry, walks in, “Howdy, do ya like your new job, here at the nuclear plant?” He asks, in his Texan voice. “Well, this place is very nice! Plus, I'm not used to everything not being covered in snow, I come from the northern part of the United States.” Lori responds. “I’ll let ya get to it then, you should be gettin’ some Emails right ‘bout now, see ya.” He says. “Goodbye,” She says, turning back to her computer. She opened up her email and, her boss was right, she was getting Emails. She already had 5 on her first day.
The emails were nothing special; they were just citizens asking questions about the plant. By the time she was done, it was time for her lunch break. She walked to the staff kitchen and grabbed a sandwich from the fridge. The plastic on it read, “-VEGGIE” made just for her. Suddenly, one of her co-workers walked in, “Ay! You’re the newbie, right? Welcome to the place you’ll hate but never be able to leave! How’s your first day goin’? Also, is that a veggie sandwich? Do you not like meat?” He seemed to be a big talker. “Oh.. uh yes, my name is Lori. My day’s going good, and I’m a vegetarian.” She felt awkward since she was an introvert, and very clearly this man was an extrovert. “Good to hear it’s goin’ alright. The name’s Jacron by the way.” Lori felt happy that she finally seemed to make a friend at her new job. Now another co-worker was walking in. She looked no younger than Lori and had light ginger hair and a face full of freckles. “Don’t listen to him, he’ll rot your brain,” the lady said jokingly, “I have a theory that if we all go insane, it’s Jacron’s fault. He always has something to go rambling about!” Lori laughed at the joke meanwhile Jacron looked away guiltily. “My name is Jayli, and trust me, you’ll want to hang out with me more than him, once you hear how much he really talks.”
And just like that, it was already time to get back to work. Lori had hardly eaten her sandwich, but quite frankly, she wasn’t that hungry. She wrapped it up and put it back in the fridge, waving bye to her new friends as she did. Once she had gotten back to her desk, she immediately started working on the emails. She had gotten over 20 in just the period of her lunch break. By the time she was almost done with the last one, Jacron walked in, “Hey Lori, you still at it?” he asked. “Woah yeah, I guess I am. I haven’t stopped to look at the time in ages!” She answered. “Listen, me and a few of my buds are goin’ out to some restaurant tomorrow, we convinced the boss to let us have a half day. Would you like to come with us? You can bring Jayli if you want.” He said the last sentence in a jokingly annoyed voice. “Sure! That sounds like fun, I’ll ask Jayli if I see her.” Lori smiled at the last part. “Oh yeah, reminds me, Jayli asked me to give you this.” He handed her a note that read a phone number and, “Call me! -Jayli” Lori sat it on her desk. “Well, I guess… while we’re giving out phone numbers, you should probably get mine so we can plan ahead of going to the restaurant,” Jacron said, slightly nervous. “Okay,” answered Lori as she handed her phone to him so he could add his number to her phone. Jacron handed her phone back. “I’ll see you later!” He called out as he left.
Lori finished her last email and packed up her stuff. Strangely, she could still hear the whispers of people in the plant even though it was midnight. She didn’t think anything of it and left for home. While on the highway, she saw an old man cross the street in an area that wasn’t meant for crossing. She hit the brakes as hard as she could, making sure she wouldn’t hit him. He made no reaction when her car almost completely ran him over. He kept on walking like nothing ever happened. Lori thought this was quite strange, but ignored it, she just wanted some sleep. When she got to her apartment, she set her purse down on her little table and walked into her bedroom. Then, she noticed something weird, her curtains were wide open. Lori always makes sure to close her curtains before leaving the house, so she believed this was out of the ordinary. “Maybe I just forgot to close them before I left?” She said to herself, although Lori never forgets to close them. She knew this, but was only trying to reassure herself that nothing weird was going on. She closed the curtains and went to bed, trying to forget about the weird stuff that had happened that day.
Lori woke up at 3:34. She usually always wakes up around 6am, so she felt this was weird. She kept trying to go back to sleep but never could, so she stayed up until it was time for work. She stopped at her coffee shop like she does every morning, but felt like something was off, or someone was watching her. She strived to ignore it and grabbed her coffee. When she walked outside, she found what was giving her the unsettling feeling. The old man that she had almost ran over was watching her from across the street. “Can you see that old man?” Lori asked the worker at the coffee bar. “Uh, no? There’s nobody over there. Why?” The worker responded with. “What? Okay… I must be seeing things. Have a great day sir!” Lori said as she rushed out the door. “Thanks, you too!” She heard the worker call out. She rushed to work so she wouldn’t be late.
As soon as Lori arrived at work, she went to her office, hoping to avoid everyone. She wasn’t in the mood for social interactions. She set her bag down and sat in her office chair. Then, she booted up her computer and got to work. After she finished up answering e-mails, she realized it was time for lunch. But before she could get up, Jacron walked in. “Hey! The day’s over now since we have a half day, remember? Do you wanna go eat now?” | image tagged in moons tyler temp thanks yachi | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
