Sheol is the underworld, a cavern, deep underground, where all the dead go. It is not Hell. It is not Heaven. It's just where the dead sleep, unconscious - you know, rest in peace.
Going to Hell and Heaven after death are not Jewish concepts. They're Zoroastrian. That's why they're not in the Torah. Because words mean things.
