I made this poorly executed meme in response to a malicious backdoor which was in millions of Linux computers and others including my Mac. I find it absurd that we are all supposed to be security conscious yet a bad actor can anonymously weasel their way into an open source project unhindered.
In my opinion contributors should be able to remain anonymous, but must register real names on github, especially for critical software which people should be able to trust. There should be full accountability and traceability for every piece of code on our machines.
I am fully able to grasp the idea of different sexualities.
Your feelings and disregard for history and language constructs don't make a new reality.
Gender comes from the Greek genos / Latin genus: birth, beget, produce, origin, race, sort, stock, kin, kind. None of these terms are related to sexual desire or sexual preference in any way. These terms are purely biological or from birth. Scientifically even today, genus/ genera are not flexible terms, they are hard reality tied down to biological types and DNA alone... NOT thoughts, feelings wants or sexual preferences.
On the other hand there are many many long standing terms for love or sexual preference. Greek examples: eros, philia, ludus, agape, pragma, philautia, storge, xenia.
Also sexual preference: arrenopipes, andromanes basically homosexuals androgunos, basically intersex or the "transgender" misnomer.
English borrows from these languages, we should not butcher them and apply different meanings.
Human sexual preference is nothing new, people have been conforming to biological function and or satisfying their relations, desires and sexual perversions in all manner of ways with each other for thousands of years.
Modern humans have not found new ways to have sex with other beings and we don't need to mess with words that have real meanings and abandon others which describe these things in the first place.
