First of all, I have had little interest in women’s basketball or really any sport, but like many Americans, I have noticed the generational talent in Clark and a few others in the last few years and noticed that she’s on the receiving end of more hard fouls than just about anyone else. It was hard not to question whether racism was in play before, but it would take a complete ideological, blue kool aid guzzling shirtlib to not see the racist aspect with this incident.
No surprises that you are downplaying the racist aspect. Caitlin is on the receiving end of hard fouls just about every game because of racial hatred. At the time of the incident, the refs looked the other way because of racism. It took outrage from fans before the league reviewed the no-call AFTER the game and decided to charge Alyssa Thomas with a Flagrant 2 and suspended for one game. They also formed a committee to determine why there’s two sets of rules: one for those who foul Caitlin and another for fouls against everyone else.
