Head canon: Tyde starts off as just a blob, the slime you typically see in fantasy media. But as time goes in he starts getting better at holding a specific shape or mold. In the Amsterdam incident arc, he is just a blob, but then as that arc goes on, with each passing week he is starting to maintain a shape, a humanoid-ish shape. and then in the next arc he appears in he is almost perfectly balanced, except with a few little droplets, but then in his 3rd arc he makes an appearance he is a perfectly smooth fluid shape, he can freely manipulate to take shapes.
