5/30/2025 Iowa Republican Senator Joni Ernst, held a town hall & discussed the Trump's & the Republican's "big beautiful bill", which carries severe cuts to the social budget, like Medicaid, to create funds to give the ultra-wealthy a tax cut. The CBO has reported the cuts will remove millions from their Medicaid healthcare. One attendee yelled, "People will die!", to Sen Ernst defense of the bill. Sen Ernst then responded, "People will not, well, we all are going to die.".
