When Mr. Burns attempts to woo Marge, he kidnaps Tom Jones for a private concert, while Smithers holds him at gunpoint, glibly assuring him "That's it. Big smile. Everybody's Happy." to encourage him to do his part, and not go off script. It is for any two-parter setup-punchline where a person seems to feel one way, but is revealed to actually be held hostage (literally or metaphorically) by an unseen party who the hostage is in danger from. (e.g. a Russian celebrity to Putin)
