20th Century Fox World has first announced for the groundbreaking ceremony in July 2013. Later, construction started replacing Genting Highlands in December that year. In 2017, they started building 25 rides and attractions because those rides are themed 20th Century Fox licenses. Two years later, Disney bought Fox and sues them about why Genting loses the name but the park was supposed to open in 2018. This year, Universal Parks & Resorts has finally takes over the park as Universal Studios Malaysia.
