So the old popular memes are more likely to get the front page? Or are the memes that become the most popular within a certain time more likely to reach the front page?

It seems like the more upvotes a meme gets within a certain period of time, the more likely it is to get to the front page.

The number of comments may help a meme too (and possibly the number of upvotes those comments get), but I'm not sure about that works.
