I'm not worried. Primaries are nothing more than popularity contests. (1) The actual candidate isn't really decided until the party's nomination at their National Convention, and (2) I can't see the people putting a non-politician in the White House. It sure didn't work for H. Ross Perot in '92 or '96!

Agreed, mostly. The one thing that Perot did was get Bill Clinton elected in 92 and reelected in 96.

Americans are so tired of the status quo two party system that they'll glom onto an outsider even if they know that the candidate has no chance to win. It is just a protest vote against the system. I can see Trump manufacturing a reason to run as an independent even though he signed a pledge not to.
