If want peace set the bases for peace you dumbass!

I realize this is going to sound like a troll comment, but I don't see why that reasoning is bad. In fact, I think it's essential. Preparing for war better than others is a nation's only possible road to peace.

If you're not prepared for war, people who are prepared for war better than you are will eventually come and take your resources by killing you or forcing you to live in subjugation to them, and that's not peace.

I'll upvote your meme anyway for bringing up an interesting topic.

Thanks, My reasoning is that, if a nation has resources enough to invest in warfare they should be able to have some also for peace manoeuvres. Also war is not an urgent necessity, since if there is enough time and sources to make weapons, (add to it war strategy, intelligence and all those actions that need to move people and money) then there's enough time for research and farming. To me conflicts that are not about political views or religions (both very stupid and useless acts if you ask me) can be easily avoided just by using what we have in the smartest way.

Maybe I used wrong words... peace manouvres...if I wrote it right (XD) should be all acts that bring the state closer to peace, like meetings, agreements, pacts, and so on.

Think of it as neighbourgs, I am poor and you are my rich neighbourgh, if we set for some kind of mutual agreement and you are ok with it, we can share your wealth in exchange of my services or something else that you might need. If you ignore me and i'm about to die from starvation i would need to choose violence to survive. In the 1st case we both win, because you would give me what you don't need you even would gain something useful, like a worker (that also thanks you for saving his life). In the second case, one ends dead you might end poorer (in the case you took damage or lost some properties). That's more or less how i see it.
