Were you surprised to see your account restored? I'm sure you've heard about the "excitement" that happened while you were gone...was a great way to end the year...LOL

I don't know about the excitement, But when I saw E-mails of people commenting on my images then I thought wtf is going on? I've deleted my account so how I am getting these notifications then one day I tried logging in but couldn't enter as an error popped up stating that my password is incorrect then I thought of clicking the forgot password link and changed it I almost gave up but tried logging in with my new password and it worked.

Yeah, we all had to do that to get back in...the hackers deleted all users above 300,000 points and a few others that talked shit to them during the takeover. I was able to log in thru google but I could only watch the mayhem, I couldn't participate...it was fun but the mods had the site back within 3 hours. And everything restored within a day or two...I'm sure they assumed your account was deleted along with everyone else, that's why they resurrected you...glad to see you back tho'...hope you stick around for a minute...

The last week of 2015...somebody hacked Imgflip and deleted all the users with 300,000 points or more...they also changed the titles of the front page memes and changed many user's taglines. It all lasted about 3 hours before the Imgflip mods retook the site...and about 2 days for them to restore all the comments. It was a great time...LOL

Not really, the mods had it all restored fairly quick like l knew they would... this whole website is backed up in a cloud server...so they can always restore it.
