At what page are they not hot all?

In my opinion, if my meme makes the top 5 on the "hot" section it's successful. If it only reaches 6-10 it it means it probably only has about 8-10 upvotes. If my meme gets 10 or more upvotes and a comment or two, it's done well.

I see what you mean. If you scrolled down to page 20,000 on the "Hot" stream, you'd still technically be on "Hot" (as opposed to "Latest") - but the memes there wouldn't be hot.

I think the first 4-5 pages or so are the hottest. I like to dive into the comments there, 'cause that's where the real fun begins. After that I look at 'latest' memes to find rising, front-page worthy memes. I might go 10-15 pages deep there and as soon as I do, the mods load up another batch, so I kinda start again. Amazing how much time this can suck up!

I look at views and upvotes... and comments!
